‘Star Cement’, the pride of Century’s subsidiary, the Cement Manufacturing Company Ltd, located in Meghalaya, has become the top-selling cement brand of the Northeast within 2 years of its launch in 2005. Encouraged by its success in the Northeast, the brand has already forayed into markets of North Bengal. Centuryply has further been expanding its cement business with 1 million tonne cement grinding unit at Kahalgaon in Bihar and a 1 million tonne plant at Patratu in Jharkhand. A 2 million tonne plant in Meghalaya is on the anvil.
